The focus of  BKMOHR & Associates is primarily in the recruitment of Technical and Operational Management roles in the Chemical Industry. Clients are typically medium to small corporations with 5000 employees or less.

While many of these companies have in house human resources/staffing departments, they are limited in their reach in the market. Those who post jobs on line can expect to receive hundreds of resumes that you and your staff have to sift through costing you and your company valuable time that could be used to operate your business. Additionally, the great majority of those responding to your posting seldom come close to being an ideal candidate. On the other hand, I do this every day, it’s my profession. I seek out the highly qualified candidates that would probably never know about your position. Simply put, in the end I can save you time and money.

BKMOHR & Associates is an alternative to working with large recruiting firms. Most large firms today have gone the route of developing databases with potential candidates to present to potential clients. The skills of networking and interviewing potential candidates, have suffered from this change in recruiting strategy. My intent when I started this company was to be different; I don't consider my company in competition with large recruiting firms. I offer a skill set, service level and commitment to my clients that most of the large firms can't match.

What makes me different?

Experience: I have recruited in the chemical industry for over 24 years. The average level of experience in a large recruiting firm is 5 years.

Specialization: Positions I recruit for are primarily Managerial/Leadership roles in both technical and operations. Director of Operations, Plant Manager, Production Manager, Technical Management, Process/Product Development, EHS, Project Management, Operational Excellence and Supply Chain.  I don’t try to cover every position in a Manufacturing environment; specialization offers my clients a better selection of candidates.

Focused recruitment: I operate my business with the intent to fill every position I recruit on. Therefore, I limit my recruitment to 2/3 positions per month. Large recruiting firms focus much of their attention on landing as many jobs as possible each month. Most firms require their recruiters to write up 8 new jobs per month. Therefore, less attention is focused on actually recruiting and the easier positions are typically the ones that get filled. My time is focused on servicing your company.

Industry Connections: Having worked in the Chemical Industry for over 24 years, I have a large network of Professionals that I maintain contact with, this network is key to my success, these contacts provide me with excellent referrals finding the “A” type candidates that companies want to hire into their organization.

Fully vetted candidates: After a thorough understanding of the role and the culture of the company any candidates prior to submission are interviewed personally by me for over an hour. My clients know that I have screened these candidates and can expect a high caliber candidate that not only fits the role but is also interested in the company as well. In addition, my clients know that they will receive a select group of candidates that fit the role and not have to waste their time sifting through resumes of applicants that simply do not fit.

Geographic Focus: Over the years, applicants in the Chemical Industry are not as willing to relocate as in the past. That’s why I take an inside out approach to my recruiting efforts. My searches start in the geographic area where the position is based and work out from there. That being said all applicants are screened heavily for the geographic area. It’s one of the main reasons why applicants I place with a client typically are still with the company after 5 years on the job.

Services Offered

Contingency and Engagement Fee Search

Contingency Agreement
Like most in the industry, BKMOHR & Associates will work on a contingency basis. Contingency means a fee is not paid until you hire an employee through BKMOHR & Associates.

Engagement Fee Agreement  Another area where I have differentiated myself from others in my profession is that I don't have a Retained Search offering. I have always felt that retained searches were not in the best interests of the client. Most retained searches require 2/3's of the fee be paid before the candidates have been interviewed. What happens if none of those candidates are favorable with the the client? The incentive for the Recruiting firm diminishes since they have already received the majority of the fee. That is why I offer what I call the Engagement Fee Search. Typically when a client needs a position filled as quickly as possible or there are other variables that make the recruiting effort more difficult, I suggest this option. Instead of paying 2/3 of the fee, this offering requires only 25% of the expected fee upfront and the remainder due when the preferred candidate is hired. What I offer in return is a 100% investment of my efforts in recruiting for the position until the preferred candidate is selected.
